Revision Material for Year 7

During the week commencing 17th November, year seven pupils will undertake a formal reading assessment in English at Toot Hill School. This will be assessing their comprehension skills and they will receive a National Curriculum Level from this assessment. Attendance during this week will be vital. Every year seven pupil has a poetry anthology with them which they will be expected to revise  from in preparation for the examination.

The assessment will last for 50  minutes and will require  students to analyse one poem from their anthology and one unseen text which students will not  have seen before. It is important  that students not only revise from the poems in the anthology but also spend time developing skills needed to analyse unseen poems.
